Studies show that 92% of ALL New Year's resolutions fail!! After a few weeks into the New Year, you are either on track with you resolution, or not doing so well. We have taken a couple of tips from Dr. Tony Dukowitz on how to take a different approach to sticking with your resolution!
Dr. Dukowitz suggests with sticking to the "ONE STEP A DAY IS ALL IT TAKES!" Say that your New Year's resolution is to go to the gym. Then you tell yourself you want to go 3 days this week. Go today. And that's your first step! Then from there, take one simple step each day! If you continue this day after day, maintaining the idea that it's just one step that day, you begin to have more drive to continue going to the gym and succeed in your health goals!
The next point Dr. Dukowitz touches on is "win by adding, not subtracting!" This means it's hard to be successful when you are taking something away from yourself. If you want to decrease your sugar intake, try working more water, fruits, and vegetables into your diet. Taking something aways from yourself results in stress. It's helpful to focus on what you can add. Trying it this way will eventually push out the old habits!
